Margo Hall, Richard Prioleau, Gregory Wallace et al. Set for A.C.T.’s Marcus; or The Secret of Sweet

Full casting has been announced for the American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) production of Marcus; or The Secret of Sweet, the final part of Tarell Alvin McCraney’s The Brother/Sister Plays trilogy, which has been presented in a three-theater partnership between A.C.T., Magic Theatre, and Marin Theatre Company. Mark Rucker will direct the production, which will play October 29-November 21.

Set in a housing project days before Hurricane Katrina strikes, the play focuses on a young black man, passionately seeking out his sexual and personal identity on a cultural landscape infused with mysterious family creeds.

Richard Prioleau will star in the title role of Marcus Eshu, with the cast also including Shinelle Azoroh (Osha), Margo Hall (Oba/Shun/Elegua), Omozé Idehenre (Shaunta Iyun), Jared McNeill (Terrell), Gregory Wallace (Ogun Size), and Tobie L. Windham III (Oshoosi Size/Shua).

The creative team will include Loy Arcenas (scenic designer), James F. Ingalls (lighting designer), Alex V. Nichols (video designer), Andre Pluess (sound designer), and Lydia Tanji (costume designer).
