John Bogar, Jessica Martin, Carrie Paff, Mark Anderson Phillips and Richard Ziman – who starred in the world premiere stage adaptation of Double Indemnity at Seattle’s A Contemporary Theatre (ACT) – will reprise their roles for the show’s run at the San Jose Repertory Theatre, January 12-February 5. Kurt Beattie directs.

A co-production between the two companies, the play was written by James M. Cain and adapted by David Pichette and R. Hamilton Wright. The plot involves the beautiful and seductive Phyllis Nirlinger (Paff) who hatches a cold-blooded scheme to murder her husband, but not before taking out an insurance policy on his life — one which pays double if he dies in an accident — in this case, a fall from a moving train.

The design team includes Thomas Lynch (set), Annie Smart (costumes), Rick Paulsen (lighting), and Adam Stern (composer).
