Casting Set for No Nude Men’s The Merchant of Venice Reading

Casting has been set for the No Nude Men staged reading of Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice, set to play at the Exit Theater, December 9 at 7:30 pm.

The story revolves around Shylock, an observant Jewish moneylender caught between his faith’s strictures and the demands of Christianity. The cast will feature Nathan Tucker as Shylock, Kendra Arimoto as Portia, Stuart Bousel as Bassanio, Christopher P. Kelly as Antonio, Shaun Landry as Nerissa, Lisa Swanson as Jessica, Tony Sommers as Lorenzo, David Bicha as Gratiano, Carl Lucania as Salanio, Rik Lopes as Salarino, Jason Wong as Prince of Morocco, Sean Fenton as Prince of Aragon, Brian Olkowski as Tubal, Chris Struett as Launcelot, and Ryan Hayes as Narrator.

The reading will begin with commentary by Denise Battista, Shakespeare scholar and Editor-in-Chief of Playshakespeare.com, and will be followed by an audience discussion led by a panel of writers and artists including Peter S. Beagle, Jewish-American author and fantasist; and John Fisher, Artistic Director of Theater Rhinoceros.
