NCTC Announces 2008-2009 Season

The New Conservatory Theatre Center has announced the selections for its 2008-2009 Pride Season.

The Walker Theatre will house the world premiere of Tom W. Kelly’s comedy Friends Are Forever (August 15-September 21); Douglas Carter Beane’s As Bees in Honey Drown, about a young gay novelist who captures the attention of of a mysterious female admirer (November 7-December 1); Joe Becker’s Tennessee in the Summer, about playwright Tennessee Williams (January 23-March 1); and the world premiere of Harry Cronin’s Blind Faith, about two teenage boys who fall in love in Colorado Springs (March 27-May 3).

The Decker Theatre will house Alan Bennett’s Tony Award-winning play The History Boys, about a prestigious British school (September 19-October 26); the musical fable Zanna, Don’t! (December 5-January 18); Jordan Harrison’s Act A Lady, about men in a small Prohibition-era who decided to cross-dress (March 20-April 26); and Terrence McNally’s Some Men, which looks at decades of gay history up until the present (May 29-July 12).
