Magic Theatre to Present World Premiere of Luis Alfaro’s Bruja

Magic Theatre is set to present the world premiere of Bruja by Luis Alfaro, May 24-June 24.

Bruja, a reimagining of Euripides’ Medea, is a haunting contemporary story that explodes one of the ancient myths most firmly embedded in our culture.

Sabina Zuniga Varela will play Medea. The cast will also feature Sean San Jose, Carlos Aguirre, Wilma Bonet, and Armando Rodriguez. Daniel Vigil, Mason Kreis, Daniel Castaneda, and Gavilan Gordon-Chavez will alternate in pairs as Medea’s children.

The design team will include Andrew Boyce (set design), Alex Jaeger (costume design), Eric Southern (lighting design), and Jake Rodriguez (sound design).
