The play is an affectionate salute to the story of Florence Foster Jenkins ,who suffered under the delusion that she was a great coloratura soprano, and her relationship with her devoted pianist, Cosme McMoon.

Crumb received a Tony nomination for Anna Karenina and has also starred in The Goodbye Girl, Chess, Nine, and Aspects of Love. Daggett's stage credits include Ragtime and The Full Monty.
