Scenes from a gala screening of The Producers, the opening night party for Rope, and a very special concert by Audra McDonald.




On Sunday, December 4, the Ziegfeld Theater -- the last of the really grand, one-screen movie houses in Manhattan, and long may it remain intact! -- was the site of a star-studded screening of the film version of the Mel Brooks-Thomas Meehan musical The Producers. Pictured here at the event are Matthew Broderick (left) and Nathan Lane (right), who respectively recreated their Broadway roles of Leo Bloom and Max Bialystock in the movie, with Uma Thurman (center), who plays Ulla in the flick.









Here's Broderick again with his better half, Sarah Jessica Parker.



















Also on hand: Will Ferrell, who plays Franz Liebkind in the movie...






















...Roger Bart, who recreated his stage role of Carmen Ghia in the film...



















...Jai Rodriguez, who's currently playing Carmen Ghia in the Broadway production and (appropriately enough!) appears in the "Keep It Gay" number in the flick.




















...and Susan Stroman, who directed and choreographed both the stage and film versions of The Producers.




















Among the many celebs on hand for the screening: Joan Collins, known to millions as Alexis Carrington on TV's Dynasty...


















...Michael McKean, who'll be playing Hines in the Roundabout Theatre Company's upcoming production of The Pajama Game...



















...and funny ladies Molly Shannon and Kristen Johnston.


















Last night's opening performance of Rope at the Zipper was followed by a party at Camino Sur, right next door. Here are the show's stars (left to right): Chandler Williams, Sam Trammell, and Zak Orth.
