Peter Kim has joined the cast of the New York premiere of Jordan Harrison’s Maple and Vine, to be presented by Playwrights Horizons, November 19-December 23, with an opening on December 7. Anne Kauffman will direct.

The play focuses on two people who meet a charismatic man from a community of 1950s re-enactors, and forsake the conveniences of their 21st-century lives.

The cast will also feature Marin Ireland, Trent Dawson, Pedro Pascal, and Jeanine Serralles.

Kim replaces the previously reported Louis Ozawa Changchien, who withdrew from the production prior to rehearsals due to a film commitment. Kim originated his role as Ryu in the world premiere of the play at The Humana Festival of New American Plays in March 2011. He has appeared on Broadway in Thoroughly Modern Millie, with other New York credits including Year Zero, Yellow Face, and American Hwangap.

Maple and Vine will feature scenic design by Alexander Dodge, costume design by Ilona Somogyi, lighting design by David Weiner, and sound design by Bray Poor.
