The New Group's staging of Eugene O'Neill's Mourning Becomes Electra, which was scheduled to play Theatre Row through April 18, will now close on March 1, following the 1 pm matinee.

Scott Elliott directs this trilogy of plays that re-imagines the Oresteia, bringing the intense familial conflicts of this classic story to a tightly wound New England town.

The production stars Jena Malon (Lavinia Mannon), Lili Taylor (Christine Mannon), Mark Blum (Ezra Mannon), Joseph Cross (Orin Mannon), Robert Hogan (Seth), and Anson Mount (Brant), along with Carolyn Baeumler, Therese Barbato, Geoffrey Bryant, Susan Goodwillie, Mycah Hogan, Patrick Mapel, Sean Meehan, Phoebe Strole, and John Wojda. The creative team will include Derek McLane (sets), Susan Hilferty (costumes), Jason Lyons (lighting), Shane Rettig (sound), and Pat Metheny (original music).
