A preliminary lineup of performers has been announced for The American Songbook Project’s Name That Tune costume gala to be held at the Hudson Theatre on November 4.
Liz Smith will headline the event’s tribute to songwriter Jerry Herman and Andrea McArdle will accept the award on Herman’s behalf, in addition to singing his song “If He Walked Into My Life.” East Hampton’s Guild Hall will also be honored at the event.
Other artists scheduled to perform at the event include Anna Bergman, Jeffrey Denman, Mark Nadler and Meredith Patterson.
The benefit will also include a costume competition, which will be judged by William Ivey Long, Chris March, and Jane Kaczmarek, among other notables.
The American Songbook Project was founded in 1999 as a non-profit organization with the mission to preserve the heritage of American songs, to foster its artists, to promote the art of live performance, and to reintroduce American music in New York City schools and community centers.
