Stephanie J. Block, Connie Britton, J. Bernard Calloway, Carla Gugino, Orfeh, et al. Set for African Children’s Choir Concert

Stephanie J. Block, J. Bernard Calloway, Nikki Renee Daniels, Kathy Fitzgerald, Rhett George, Andy Karl, Orfeh, and Marty Thomas will perform at the African Children’s Choir annual gala fundraiser, to be held on Monday, October 18 at The Box (189 Chrystie Street) beginning at 7pm.

As previously reported, the event will be hosted by Broadway veteran Carla Gugino and Emmy nominee Connie Britton, with musical direction by Mary Mitchell Campbell. The evening will also feature a live auction, a raffle, and special appearances by former choir children.

The African Children’s Choir is comprised of 24 African children, ages seven to eleven. Each child in the Choir has lost one or both parents to poverty, war or AIDS. Through the group’s work and that of its sponsor, Music for Life, children in seven African nations receive scholarships and educational opportunities.
