Broadway veteran Carla Gugino and television star Connie Britton will host the African Children’s Choir annual gala fundraiser to be held on Monday, October 18 at The Box (189 Chrystie Street) from 7pm-10:30pm. Mary Mitchell Campbell will be the music director for the event.

In addition to performances from the choir, the benefit will feature performances by cast members from Wicked, The Lion King, Promises, Promises, In the Heights, and Memphis. Additional performers will be announced shortly.
In addition to the concert, the event will feature an auction and pre-performance cocktail reception.

The African Children’s Choir is comprised of 24 African children, ages seven to eleven. Each child in the Choir has lost one or both parents to poverty, war or AIDS. Through the group’s work and that of its sponsor, Music for Life, children in seven African nations receive scholarships and educational opportunities.
