Liza Colon-Zayas, Zabryna Guevara, Armando Riesco, et al. Set for Hartford Stage’s Water by the Spoonful

Hartford Stage has announced casting for Quiara Alegría Hudes’ Water by the Spoonful, to run October 20 – November 13. Davis McCallum will direct the production.

The play centers on Iraqi war veteran Elliot, first introduced in Hudes’ Elliot, a Soldier’s Fugue, and his struggle to find his place in the world again and put aside the demons that haunt him.

The company will feature Armando Riesco (Elliot Ortiz), Zabryna Guevara (Yazmin Ortiz), Liza Colon-Zayas (Odessa Ortiz), Matthew Boston (Fountainhead), Teresa Avia Lim (Orangutan), Ray Anthony Thomas (Chutes & Ladders), and Demosthenes Chrysan (Professor Aman/Ghost).

The creative team will include Neil Patel (scenic design), Chloe Chapin (costume design), Russell Champa (lighting design), Bray Poor (sound design), and Michael Friedman (original music).
