Kate Burton, Michael Cumpsty, Rosemary Harris, Suzan-Lori Parks, Sam Shepard, et al. to Appear at Y’s Poetry Center

The 92nd Street Y’s Unterberg Poetry Center has announced its line-up for its 2009-2010 season.

Highlights of interest to theater lovers include Tony Award winner Rosemary Harris reading children’s literature (September 26 at 11:30am); Phil Procotor and the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet in a presentation of Don Quixote (November 11 at 8pm); an evening of the work of Samuel Beckett (December 7 at 8pm); a joint reading by Sam Shepard and Patti Smith (January 21 at 8pm); Pulitzer Prize winner Suzan-Lori Parks (March 8 at 8pm); Kate Burton and Michael Cumpsty presenting the correspondence of poets Elizabeth Bishop and Robert Lowell (April 19 at 8pm), and James Shapiro, author of Contested Will: The Shakespeare Authorship Conspiracy (May 2 at 11am).

Other authors who will appear at the Poetry Center include Adrienne Rich, Annie Proulx, A.S. Byatt, Orhan Pamuk, Martin Amis, Rita Dove, Paul Auster, Jamaica Kincaid, John Irving, Brad Gooch, Joyce Carol Oates, and Roger Angell.
