Susan Browning, who received Tony Award nominations for her performances as April in the original Broadway production of Company and Agnes in Goodtime Charley, died on April 23 after a brief illness. She was 65.
Browning made her Broadway debut in the 1963 comedy Love and Kisses, opposite Bert Convy and Larry Parks. Her other Broadway credits include Big River, Shelter, Thieves, and Neil Simon's Chapter Two. She also appeared in 1973's Sondheim: A Musical Tribute at the Shubert Theater and in the 1993 reunion concert of Company at the Vivian Beaumont Theater.
Among the many films in which she appeared are The World According to Garp, Sister Act, and The Money Pit. Browning played Pat Gimble on the sitcom Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman and had roles on the daytime dramas One Life to Live and Love Is a Many Splendored Thing.
