Author Patty Farmer celebrated the release of her new book, The Persian Room Presents, from Vantage Press, with two events held last week in New York City. A private reception was held at The Plaza on March 6, while a Q&A and book signing was held at Barnes & Noble’s 82nd & Broadway location on March 7.
Among the attendees at the events were Tony Butala, Marge Champion, Don Dellair, Cathryn Kenzel, Carol Lawrence, Eve Plumb, Tommy Tune, Leslie Uggams, Barbara Van Orden, and Julie Wilson.
In the book, dozens of celebrities reminisce about their experiences performing and partying at the Persian Room, a popular New York nightlife venue from 1934 to 1975. In addition to guests at the events, some of the other stars who share stories within the book are Kaye Ballard, Polly Bergen, Diahann Carroll, Lesley Gore, Celeste Holm, Lainie Kazan, Roslyn Kind, Michele Lee, Patti Page, and Andy Williams.
A portion of the proceeds from each sale will be donated to Childhelp for the treatment and prevention of child abuse.
