Steven Sater’s A Purple Summer: Notes on the Lyrics of Spring Awakening to Be Released March 13

Tony Award winner Steven Sater’s new book, A Purple Summer: Notes on the Lyrics of Spring Awakening will be released from Applause Theatre & Cinema Books on March 13.

The book features Sater’s notes on his famously evocative, poetic lyrics for the Tony-winning Broadway musical Spring Awakening. The 112 page paperback is meant as an aid for young performers who take on the musical, and the publication of the book coincides with the recent release of the student and amateur licensing rights to Spring Awakening.
