Tony and Emmy Award winner Leslie Uggams will launch her new CD Uptown Downtown with a performance as part of the “Live at Barnes & Noble” series at the bookstore’s 150 East 86th Street at Lexington location in New York City on Thursday, March 8 at 7pm.

Uggams will sign and sing selections from the CD, which contains 21 songs from her critically acclaimed musical autobiography of the same name. She will be accompanied by Don Rebic on piano, Steve Bargonetti on guitar, and Ray Kilday on bass.

Storytellers from New Victory Theater will make an appearance on March 18, in conjunction with the venue’s production of Lucky Duck, while the show’s creators — Henry Krieger, Bill Russell, and Jeffrey Hatcher — will discuss the new musical, with a performance by the cast on March 20.

Among the other artists who will be making appearances at the store are Jazz saxophonist and composer Tim Berne (March 9) and playwright Katori Hall (March 29).
