Drama Desk Awards to Be Held on June 3

The 57th annual Drama Desk Awards will be held at The Town Hall in Manhattan on Sunday, June 3, beginning at 8pm.
The ceremony will be presented by TheaterMania.com with Robert R. Blume and David S. Stone in association with Renee McCurry. TheaterMania has engaged Joey Parnes Productions to produce and general manage the production.
The Drama Desk is an organization founded in 1949 of professional theater critics and columnists who cover all areas of New York theater – Broadway, Off Broadway and Off Off Broadway.
Drama Desk President Isa Goldberg said in a statement, “The Drama Desk organization is thrilled to have the support of TheaterMania.com in producing the 57th Annual Drama Desk Awards. Their generous partnership takes our awards event to a new stage, while propelling the significant role of the Drama Desk Awards in the theater community. We are most excited to bring our awards ceremony to Town Hall on June 3rd.”
The 2011-2012 Drama Desk Nominating Committee is composed of TheaterMania contributor Barbara Siegel, who serves as Chairperson, along with Suzanna Bowling, Lawrence Harbison, Mark Peikert, Richard Ridge, and Frank Verlizzo.
The date and venue of the nominations announcement news conference will be announced shortly, as well as the date and venue for the nominees cocktail reception.
