Participants have been announced for the roundtable discussion, “RepresentAsian: The Changing Face of Theatre,” to be presented by the Asian American Performers Action Coalition (AAPAC) and Fordham University at the university’s Pope Auditorium on Monday, February 13 at 7pm.

As previously reported, David Henry Hwang will moderate the event, which will bring together prominent producers, agents, casting directors, playwrights and directors to discuss access to casting opportunities for minority actors, their representation on New York City stages and ways to create a more inclusive industry.

Confirmed participants include Actor’s Equity Association Executive Director Mary McColl; Public Theater artistic director Oskar Eustis; playwright Douglas Carter Beane; directors Trip Cullman and Ken Rus Schmoll; producers Stephen Byrd and Nelle Nugent; casting directors Stephanie Klapper, Nancy Piccione, and Tara Rubin; and agents Don Birge, Paul Hilepo, and Mark Schlegel.

The roundtable coincides with the release of a report by the Asian American Performers Action Coalition (AAPAC) entitled, “Ethnic Representation on New York City Stages 2006/07-2010/11 Seasons.” For more on the findings within the report, click here to read TheaterMania’s previous news story.
