Cady Huffman, Beth Leavel, Jose Llana, Brad Oscar, Barbara Walsh Set for York Readings

The York Theatre Company has announced casting for the next three offerings in its Developmental Reading Series, which are presented free to the public at The York Theatre at Saint Peter’s.

Danny Gardner, Cady Huffman, Jose Llana, Jeff McCarthy, Brad Oscar, Patrick Richwood, Alan Safier, Elena Shaddow, and Joy Hermalyn will appear in the new musical adaptation of A Doctor in Spite of Himself, to be presented Monday, February 20 at 7pm. The work features book, music and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, with direction by David Glenn Armstrong.

Steve Umberger will direct Lunch at the Picadilly, on Wednesday, February 22 at 2:30pm. Based on the best-selling novel of the same name, it has a book by Clyde Edgerton, with music and lyrics by Mike Craver. Amy Jones is musical director and choreographer, and the cast will include Mike Craver, Rebecca Koon, Mary Murfitt, Fleur Phillips, Trip Plymale, and Trent Rhoton.

David Beach, Stephen Berger, Matt Bogart, Alton Fitzgerald White, Adam Heller, Philip Hoffman, Beth Leavel, Patti Murin, Steve Rosen, Steve Routman and Barbara Walsh will be featured in The Gig on Friday, February 24 at 2pm. Based on the film by Pulitzer Prize winner Frank D. Gilroy, the musical has book, music and lyrics by Douglas J. Cohen. Igor Goldin directs, with musical direction by David Evans.
