Joe Iconis’ Bloodsong of Love Musical to Premiere at Ars Nova in April

Bloodsong of Love: The Rock’N’Roll Spaghetti Western, featuring book, music and lyrics by Joe Iconis, will make its world premiere at Ars Nova for a six-week run beginning April 1, with an opening on April 15. John Simpkins will direct.

Ars Nova will also present the world premieres of Missed Connections NYC, written by the Ars Nova Play Group (January 27-31), and a new play by Carly Mensch, directed by Jason Eagan (beginning September 8). Workshop productions will include Outré Island, written and performed by Christopher Rozzi, and directed by Sam Gold (February 4-March 11), and three more productions TBA. The venue will also host ANT FEST 2010, the Summer Music Marathon, and its ongoing developmental theater, music, and comedy series.

In addition, Stephen Brackett, Amy Herzog, Steven Levenson have been named as 2010 artists-in-residence.
