Once to Play Broadway’s Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre in February

The new musical Once, currently playing at New York Theatre Workshop through January 15, will transfer to Broadway’s Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre, beginning previews February 28, with an official opening set for March 18.


John Tiffany has directed the production, which has movement by Steven Hoggett and musical direction by Martin Lowe.

With music and lyrics by Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, and a book by Enda Walsh, Once is.adapted from the 2007 Academy Award-winning film of the same name. The musical, which is set on the streets of Dublin, focuses on an Irish musician, known just as “Guy,” and a Czech immigrant, known just as “Girl.”

The company features Steve Kazee (Guy) and Cristin Milioti (Girl), along with David Abeles, Claire Candela, Will Connolly, Elizabeth Davis, David Patrick Kelly, Anne L. Nathan, Lucas Papaelias, Andy Taylor, Erikka Walsh , Paul Whitty, and J. Michael Zygo.

The production has set and costume design by Bob Crowley, lighting design Natasha Katz, and sound design is by Clive Goodwin.
