The producers of Rajiv Joseph's Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo have announced that it will play Broadway's Richard Rodgers Theatre, with previews beginning March 11, and an opening set for March 31. As previously reported, Oscar, Emmy and Grammy Award-winning actor Robin Williams will star, and Moises Kaufman will direct. Additional casting will be announced at a later date.

This darkly comic tale is narrated by a tiger held captive in the Baghdad Zoo, and follows the intertwined lives of two American marines and one Iraqi gardener as they search through the rubble of war for friendship, redemption and a toilet seat made of gold.

Williams has appeared on the New York stage in Waiting for Godot, Robin Williams: Live on Broadway, and his Weapons of Self Destruction solo show . He received the Academy Award for Good Will Hunting, and his many other films include Dead Poets Society, Mrs Doubtfire, Awakenings, Hook, The Fisher King, Patch Adams, Happy Feet, and Night at the Museum.

Joseph's play was a finalist for the 2010 Pulitzer Prize. His other works include Animals Out of Paper, Huck & Holden, All This Intimacy, and The Leopard and the Fox.
