The Pearl Theatre Company celebrated the grand opening of its new permanent home at 555 West 42nd Street (formerly occupied by the Signature Theatre Company) on Monday, October 1.

A 3pm ribbon cutting was followed by a benefit reading of A Thurber Carnival at 7:30pm and a reception with the cast and The Pearl's Resident Acting Company at 8:45pm.

Stage and screen star Michael McKean arranged and directed Jamess Thurber's work, and starred in the reading, as well. He was joined by Jason Butler Harner, Jackie Hoffman, Elizabeth Marvel, Dakin Matthews, Maryann Plunkett, Jay O. Sanders, and Annette O'Toole.

Guests included Pearl Artistic Director J.R. Sullivan, actor Stephen Wallem, and political commentator Keith Olbermann.
