Maureen McGovern to Play Birdland in November

Award-winning singer and actress Maureen McGovern will play Birdland with her cabaret show, Dangling Conversations, November 8-12.

This intimate evening will feature classic songs by iconic singer/songwriters including Paul Simon, J. D Souther, Joni Mitchell, Don Henley, Laura Nyro, Bruce Springstein, Jimmy Webb and Pete Seeger — including “Help Me,” “The Dangling Conversation,” “Faithless Love,” “An American Tune,” “Time and Love,” “Turn, Turn, Turn,” and more. McGovern will be accompanied on piano by her musical director Jeffrey Harris and on bass by Jay Leonhart.

McGovern’s Broadway credits include Little Women, Nine, 3Penny Opera and The Pirates of Penzance. She is currently touring with her one-woman theatrical show, Carry It On (formerly: A Long and Winding Road). Her recording career began with the Oscar-winning International Gold Records “The Morning After” (Billboard #1) and “We May Never Love Like This Again.” She has also received Grammy nominatinons for “Best New Artist” (1973) and “Best Traditional Pop Vocal Performance” (1998).
