Bernadette Peters and John Dossett to Star in Love Letters Benefit

Bernadette Peters and John Dossett will star in a reading of A.R. Gurney’s two-character play Love Letters on Monday, September 24 at New World Stages. All proceeds of the reading will benefit Opening Act, which provides free after-school theater programming to New York City’s under-served public high schools. There will be a reception at 7pm with the reading to follow at 8pm. The reading will be directed by Michael Mastro.

Peters is a two-time Tony Award winner for Annie Get Your Gun and Song & Dance. Her other Broadway credits include Gypsy, Sunday in the Park With George, Into the Woods, Mack & Mabel, and The Goodbye Girl.
Dossett played Herbie opposite Peters in Gypsy, for which he received a Tony Award nomination. His other Broadway credits include Democracy, The Constant Wife, Dinner at Eight, and Mamma Mia!

Tickets to the event are $40-$100 and can be purchased at www.openingactnewyork.org.
