According to the website The Black List New York City, The Nance will be shot on Tuesday, August 13, at 3pm and Wednesday, August 14, at 2pm and 8pm at the Lyceum Theatre. Tickets are not guaranteed, but they are completely free for audience members selected by online drawing.
Directed by three-time Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien, the production began previews on March 21 and officially opened on April 15. Lane received a 2013 Tony nomination for his performance as Chauncey Miles, a headlining burlesque performer known for his onstage portrayal of effeminate "nance" characters. The cast also features Tony Award winner Cady Huffman, Tony Award nominee Lewis J. Stadlen, Andréa Burns, Jenni Barber, and Jonny Orsini.
The production features sets by John Lee Beatty, costumes by Ann Roth, lighting by Japhy Weideman, sound by Leon Rothenberg, choreography by Joey Pizzi, and original music and arrangements by Glen Kelly.
