St. Ann’s Warehouse Announces 2011-2012 Season

St. Ann’s Warehouse has announced its programming for 2011-2012. The season will begin with the recently reported Stop the Virgens, a psycho-Opera by Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, directed by Adam Rapp (October 12-22). The cast will include Lili Taylor, Money Mark, Jack Lawrence, Patrick Keeler, Brian Chase, Nick Zinner, Jason Grisell, Gillian Rivers, Yuiko Kamakari and Justin Kantor.

The Tiger Lillies will team up with Justin Vivian Bond for the exclusive concert performance, Sinderella Songs (October 25-29). Also on the theater’s schedule is The Foundry Theater’s How Much Is Enough: Our Values in Question (November 3-27). The piece, by Kirk Lynn, examines the concept of value. St. Ann’s will also present Enda Walsh’s Misterman (November 30 – December 21), which will feature Cillian Murphy, and Daniel Kitson’s It’s Always Right Now, Until It’s Later (January 3-29).

Next up will be Early Plays (February 15-March 4), a new piece taken from four short plays by Eugene O’Neill. This collaboration between the Wooster Group and the New York City Players, will be developed and directed by Richard Maxwell, and feature members of both companies, including Enver Chakartash, Aron Deyo, Ari Fliakos, Teresa Hartmann, Daniel Jackson, Bozkurt Karasu, Bobby McElver, Kaneza Schaal, Andrew Schneider, Scott Shepherd, Kate Valk, Keith Connolly, Jim Fletcher, Alex Delinois, and Nicholas Elliott.

Magicians/performers Dennis Diamond, Louie Magic, and Daryl Hannah will star in Elephant Room (March/April), written by Steve Cuiffo, Trey Lyford, and Geoff Sobelle in collaboration with the magicians. Additionally, Grzegorz Jarzyna’s staging of Thomas Vinterberg and Mogens Rukov’s Festen will play at St. Ann’s, running April 20-29. The piece, from Poland’s TR Warszawa, centers on a family that has gathered together to celebrate its patriarch’s birthday. The season will conclude with a special concert preview of Cynthia Hopkins’ Songs for This Clement World (May 4 & 5).
