The as-yet-unnamed movie is being cofinanced by DreamWorks and Fox and will begin shooting in Berlin and New York this September.

Set to be released in the U.S. on October 16, 2015, the film features a Coen brothers script based on a pitch by Matt Charman. The plot follows James Donovan (Hanks), an American attorney who is enlisted by the CIA during the Cold War to negotiate the release of a Soviet Union-captured pilot.

The newly announced cast members include Amy Ryan (A Streetcar Named Desire), Alan Alda (Glengarry Glen Ross), and Billy Magnussen (Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike). Ryan is set to play Donovan's wife. Additional details have not yet been announced.
