Connolly has appeared Off-Broadway and at Los Angeles' Ricardo Montalban Theatre. He is well known for his work on the TV series Head of the Class, and as loyal servant John Brown opposite Judi Dench in the film Mrs. Brown. Upcoming films include Quartet and the two-part adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit.
