A stage musical of the 1964 Warner Bros. comedy Robin and the Seven Hoods about gangsters in 1920s Chicago, will come to Broadway in 2010.
Casey Nicholaw is set to direct and choreograph the show, with Peter Ackerman writing a new book, Gregg Barnes and Natasha Katz signed to do costumes and lighting, respectively, and John McDaniel as musical director.

The show will include about 15 songs written by Sammy Cahn and James Van Heusen for the movie, which starred Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., and Dean Martin, including “Chicago, My Kind of Town,” “All the Way,” and “Call Me Irresponsible.”

Nicholaw directed and choreographed The Drowsy Chaperone and choreographed Monty Python’s Spamalot. His upcoming projects include To Be Or Not to Be, which bows in September at MTC’s Biltmore Theatre, and Minsky’s, which will debut at L.A.’s Ahmanson Theatre in January 2009.
