The off-Broadway musical Murder Ballad will conclude its run at the Union Square Theatre on Sunday, July 21. By closing, the show will have played 17 previews and 70 regular performances.

The new tuner was the inaugural production in the nonprofit Manhattan Theatre Club’s Studio at Stage II program, where it played NY City Center from November 15-December 16, 2012, featuring a cast that included Rebecca Naomi Jones, Will Swenson, John Ellison Conlee, and Karen Olivo.

This commercial transfer to the Union Square Theatre opened May 22, 2013 featuring the original MTC cast, sans Olivo, who was replaced by Caissie Levy.

The Union Square Theatre was completely redesigned to accommodate the immersive staging for Murder Ballad.

Murder Ballad is produced at the Union Square Theatre by Manhattan Theatre Club Productions, Inc.; Niclas Nagler; Richard Frankel; Tom Viertel; Steven Baruch; Marc Routh; Simone Genatt Haft; Susanne Adamski; and Scott M. Delman.

The world premiere cast recording of Murder Ballad, produced by Michael Croiter, is available on the Yellow Sound Label.
