The previously reported musical adaptation of the movie Elf is planning a holiday run at Broadway’s Al Hirschfeld Theater, according to The New York Times.

The musical features a book by Thomas Meehan and Bob Martin, with music by Matthew Sklar and lyrics by Chad Beguelin. Casey Nicholaw is set to direct the production. No casting has been announced.

The 2003 film of Elf starred Will Ferrell as a human being who was raised by Santa’s elves, and then returns to the “real” world to find his biological father who has appeared on Santa’s “naughty” list.
