Harriet Harris (Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella), Richard Easton (The Coast of Utopia), Matt Doyle (The Book of Mormon), Tony Sheldon (Priscilla, Queen of the Desert), and Lenny Wolpe (Old Jews Telling Jokes), and Amelia Pedlow are set to star in the upcoming Project Shaw production of George Bernard Shaw’s Mrs. Warren’s Profession, which will play May 20 at 7pm at The Players Club. David Staller directs.

In the play, which is one of Shaw’s most controversial, an estranged mother and daughter wrestle with the question of independence in an age before women had rights. The play tackles issues of gender roles, finance, sexuality, and prostitution.

Now in its eighth year, Gingold Theatrical Group’s Project Shaw was the first company to present every one of Shaw’s 65 plays, a feat the company completed in 2009. Each reading is produced and directed by founder David Staller.
