Craig Wright to Pen HBO Adaptation of The Knitting Circle to Star Katherine Heigl

Award-winning playwright Craig Wright will pen an HBO adaptation of Ann Wood’s novel The Knitting Circle, which will star Emmy Award winner Katherine Heigl, according to Deadline.com.


Heigl — who will also co-produce the telefilm — will play a mother mourning the death of her young daughter and struggling to overcome the grief that jeopardizes every aspect of her life.


Wright’s many plays include Mistakes Were Made, The Unseen, Recent Tragic Events, The Pavilion, Blind, and Orange Flower Water. His television credits include Six Feet Under, Brothers and Sisters, and Dirty Sexy Money.

Heigl is best known for her Emmy-winning work as Dr. Izzie Stevens on Grey’s Anatmony. Her films include Knocked Up, 27 Dresses, and The Ugly Truth.
