Crudup, Lang to Join Depp, Bale, Cottilard, et al. in Public Enemies Film

Tony Award winner Billy Crudup will play former FBI director J. Edgar Hoover and stage star Stephen Lang will play Winstead, the leader of the Texas Rangers, in Michael Mann’s upcoming film Public Enemies, according to Variety.

The film will star Oscar nominee Johnny Depp, last seen in Sweeney Todd, as gangster John Dillinger, The star-studded cast will also include Oscar winner Marion Cottilard, Christian Bale, Channing Tatum, Stephen Dorff, John Ortiz, and Bill Camp.

Mann is best known as the creator of Miami Vice. He received three Oscar nominations for his work as writer, director, and producer of The Insider and a fourth nomination for producing The Aviator. As a director, his many films include Manhunter, Heat, Ali, and The Last of the Mohicans.
