Award-winning actresses Lorraine Bracco and Andrea Martin will appear next month as part of the popular Food for Thought series of lunchtime theater at the Players Club (16 Gramercy Park South).

On Tuesday, May 8, Bracco will appear in three one-act plays: Susan Charlotte’s Come On, in which she plays a woman who confronts her lover (to be played by John Shea), and Edward Pomerantz’s A Change of Pace and I Hate It When It Gets Dark So Early. Bracco last appeared on Broadway in The Graduate and is best known for playing the role of Dr. Jennifer Melfi on The Sopranos.

On Wednesday, May 16, Martin will star in David Mamet’s A Life With No Joy In It and Christopher Durang’s Naomi in the Living Room and For Whom the Southern Bell Tolls. The pieces will be directed by Bob Dishy, and co-star Peter Stadlen, Michael Citriniti, and Audrey Lynn Weston.

Martin won the Tony Award for My Favorite Year, and was nominated for her work in Candide and Oklahoma! She last appeared on Broadway as Golde in the revival of Fiddler on the Roof. Her many film and television credits include SCTV, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, The Producers, and The Cake Eaters, which bows this week at the TriBeCa Film Festival.

Lunch is served at 12:30pm, with the performance to begin at 1:30pm. A question-and-answer session follows each performance. For more information or to make a reservation, call 212-362-2560 or visit www.foodforthoughtproductions.com.
