During the class, Kowalik and Retter guided participants through the show's finale, including both the song lyrics and the dance combination. In addition, Kowalik worked with the students on the character's accent and a scene from the show and answered questions about his career.

Kowalik won a Tony Award for his work in the title role of Billy Elliot the Musical, and recently played his final Broadway performance as Billy on March 7.
