The play is about a New York writer (played by Crudup), and his explosive encounter with a small American town that he travels to in order to defend one of his young adult novels, which has been banned by the local school board.
Crudup received a Tony Award for his work in Tom Stoppard's The Coast of Utopia. Among his other Broadway credits are his Tony-nominated performances in The Pillowman and The Elephant Man, as well as The Three Sisters and Arcadia. On screen, he was recently seen in Watchmen and will appear opposite Julia Roberts later this year in Eat, Pray, Love. Other film credits include Almost Famous, Waking the Dead, and The Good Shepherd.
Rapp's other plays include Red Light Winter, Nocturne, Finer Noble Gases, Blackbird, American Sligo, and Bingo with the Indians.
