Lou Diamond Phillips to Star on Sci-Fi Channel’s Stargate Universe

Lou Diamond Phillips, who received a Tony Award nomination and a Theatre World Award for the 1996 revival of The King and I, will be part of the cast of the Sci-Fi Channel’s upcoming series Stargate Universe, according to TVGuide.com.

The site is reporting that the actor has been cast as Colonel Telford, a lifelong military man who becomes the chosen leader when a starship’s crew inexplicably finds itself aboard an ancient vessel locked into an unknown course.

The series’ cast will also include Alaina Huffman, Ming-Na, Elyse Levesque Phillips, Robert Carlyle, Justin Louis, David Blue, Jamil Walker Smith, and Brian J. Smith.
