Music superstar Lauryn Hill and Broadway performers Christine Ebersole, Kelly Bishop, Christiane Noll, Joanna Young, Sandy Rustin, Charlie Pollock, and Jamie LaVerdiere headlined The South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) evening concert for its Small Town, Big Talent benefit, held on June 19. Jeremy Dobrish directed the program.

The event also featured musical artists Max Weinberg, Bill Charlap, Renee Rosnes, Nat Adderley, Jr., Suzzanne Douglas, and Sarah Partridge; SOPAC’s residence dance company Lydia Johnson Dance; and comedienne Jessica Kirson. NY1’s Budd Mishkin hosted the event, and was joined by Zach Braff and AJ Calloway.

Braff and Calloway also participated in an artist talk earlier that day, in which Mishkin interviewed these Columbia High School Class of 1993 graduates about their work. Additional programming for the all-day benefit included a community sing-along; a film workshop and screening of Rachel Getting Married with the film’s editor, Tim Squyres; and an artist talk with drummer Max Weinberg.
