Rob Campbell and Susannah Schulman will head the cast of Yale Repertory Theatre’s production of Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale. Obie Award winner Liz Diamond will direct the production, which will perform at the University Theatre March 16-April 7, with an opening on March 22.

In the play, suspicious that his wife Hermione (Schulman) has been unfaithful, King Leontes of Sicilia (Campbell) imprisons the queen, orders the death of her suspected lover, and banishes his own newborn daughter. But callous hearts are redeemed — and broken ones mended — when the abandoned orphan falls in love with a Bohemian prince.

The cast will also include Tim Brown, Tyrone Mitchell Henderson, Sheria Irving, Felicity Jones, Francis Jue, Brian Keane, Thomas Kopache, Hoon Lee, Lupita Nyong’o, Adam O’Bryne, Luke Robertson, Richard Ruiz, Chris Van Zele, Adina Verson, and Remsen Welsh.

The production will feature original music composed by Matthew Suttor, to be performed by musicians Paul Brantley, Michael Compitello, Jason May, and Adam Rosenblatt.

The creative team will include Randy Duncan (choreography), Michael Yeargan (sets), Jennifer Moeller (costumes), Matt Frey (lighting), and Elizabeth Atkinson (sound).
