Children’s Theatre Company Announces 2012-2013 Season

Children’s Theatre Company has announced the productions for its 2012-2013 season, which will begin in September, according to the Star-Tribune.

The season will open with Liz Duffy Adams’ Buccaneers!. Ellen Maddow directs, and it will star Bradley Greenwald playing the pirate (September 11-October 21). The schedule also includes the American premiere of the Royal National Theatre’s adaptation of The Cat in the Hat (September 25-December 2), and a revival of How the Grinch Stole Christmas with music by Mel Marvin and book and lyrics by Timothy Mason. Peter Brosius directs (November 6-December 30).

In the new year, Children’s Theatre Company will premiere Pinocchio adapted and directed by Greg Banks. Four actors, to be announced, play all the parts (January 15-February 24). The lineup also includes Brosius’ revival of Rosanna Staffa’s The Biggest Little House in the Forest which is pitched to toddlers (January 24-March 17).

The company will present Jackie and Me, adapted by Steven Dietz from the book by Dan Gutman) directed by Marion McClinton. Actor Ansa Akyea will play Jackie Robinson (March 12-April 14). The season concludes with Sharon Holland’s adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland, to be staged by Peter Brosius (April 30-June 15).
