Anthony Lapaglia to Join Film Cast of Django Unchained

Tony Award winner Anthony Lapaglia has joined the cast of the upcoming Quentin Tarantino film, Django Unchained, according to Deadline.com.

The movie will focus on Django, a freed slave, who teams with a German bounty hunter to take on an evil plantation owner. Jamie Foxx will play the movie’s title role, while previously announced cast members also include Leonardo DiCaprio, Samuel L. Jackson, and Kerry Washington.

Lapaglia won a Tony for his performance in the 1997 Broadway revival of A View From the Bridge and is set to repeat his starring role in a forthcoming film version of the play.

LaPaglia’s other stage credits include Lend Me a Tenor and The Rose Tattoo on Broadway, and The Guys, On the Open Road, and Northeast Local, Off-Broadway. Among his many film credits are Balibo, Winter Solstice, Lantana, and The Client. He may be best known for his Golden Globe Award-winning portrayal of Jack Malone on Without a Trace.
