Angela Bassett, Richard Carpenter, Donna Summer, et al. Set for Opening Night at the Hollywood Bowl

Donna Summer, The Carpenters, and pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet will be inducted into the Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame at the Opening Night at the Hollywood Bowl, on Friday, June 18 at 8:30pm.

Angela Bassett will induct Donna Summer, while Herb Alpert will induct the Carpenters, represented by Richard Carpenter. There will be performances from the newly inducted Hall of Famers, as well as an orchestra and choir of students from Los Angeles’ Renaissance Arts (RenArts) Academy. The Hollywood Bowl Orchestra will be led by Principal Guest Conductor Thomas Wilkins. Additional presenters and performers will be announced at a later date.

Proceeds from the evening will benefit Music Matters, supporting the LA Philharmonic’s music education programs. For more information on the Hollywood Bowl’s season, see our previous story.
