Hair, Rock of Ages, Shrek, and More to Play Pantages Theatre in 2010-2011

Broadway/LA has announced the lineup of shows that will play at the Pantages Theatre during the 2010-2011 season, according to a report in The Los Angeles Times. It addition to nine presentations at this venue, the group will also present one at the Ricardo Montalban Theatre.

As previously announced, the Pantages will be home to the final engagement of the national tour of The Phantom of the Opera (September 23 – November 10). After this production, the theater will host the national tour of West Side Story (November 30 – December 19).

Diane Paulus’ Tony Award-winning revival of Hair will play in the new year, running January 5 – January 23 and will be followed by Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater’s Spring Awakening (February 1-6).

The musical Rock of Ages, which began life at a club in Hollywood, will return to L.A. with a Pantages run, February 15 – 27. The theater’s schedule will be rounded out with presentations of Rain — A Tribute to the Beatles (April 12-17), Burn the Floor (April 26-May 8), and the national tour of Shrek the Musical, which will run July 12 – August 7, as well as one production to be announced at a later date, to run March 9-20.

The Broadway/LA offering at the Montalban will be a circus-inspired show from Canada, Traces. The piece, created by the Montreal company Les 7 doigts de la main (The seven fingers of the hand), will run January 11 – February 20.
