Casting Announced for D.E.E. Studio’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

D.E.E. Studio Productions Performing Arts Academy has announced casting for its presentation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, at The Hudson Backstage Theatre, to run January 12-15. Nancy Dee Horak and Jeff Lucas will direct.

This children’s play by Richard R. George is adapted from the fantasy by Roald Dahl, and the production features a musical stage adaptation by Nancy Horak.

It tells the story of Charlie Bucket, a humble child of poor beginnings, who chances upon a golden ticket which grants him an opportunity to visit the candy factory of the eccentric chocolatier Willy Wonka. Charlie and the other ticket-holders quickly learn that Wonka’s factory is full of colorful characters, bizarre devices and outlandish treats.

The cast will include Brooke Benner and Jackie Rutan (Violet Beauregarde), Shawn Bhatt (Mr. Bucket), Dakota Booher Jance Enslin and Keontae Hogains (Charlie Bucket), Kris Feldman (Mrs. Beauregarde/Grandma Josephine), Aubrey Frail (Narrator), Justin Haase (Grandpa Joe), Evan Hanneman and Sergio Mendoza (Augustus Gloop and Mike Teavee), Eddie Landon (Mr. Salt/Candy Shopkeeper), Hannah Landon and Joilee Vanier (Veruca Salt), Jeff Lucas (Willy Wonka), William Quade (Grandpa George), Laurel Richardson (Mrs. Gloop/Grandma Georgina) and Shondale Seymour (Mrs. Teavee/Mrs. Bucket)
