East West Players Announces Cast for A Widow of No Importance

Anjali Bhimani, Parvesh Cheena, Sunil Malhotra, Puja Mohindra and Lina Patel will be featured in East West Players’ upcoming world premiere comedy, A Widow of No Importance, by Shane Sakhrani. Shaheen Vaaz will direct the production at the David Henry Hwang Theater at the Union Center for the Arts, September 8-October 9, with an opening on September 14.

In the play, Deepa has been a widow for two years. Her only desire now is to see her daughter married so that she can die in peace. But when her recently divorced neighbor, also her son’s best friend professes his love for her, her inner-cougar emerges to break tradition and start living again.

The design team will include set designer John Iacovelli, lighting designer Jose Lopez, costumer designer Melanie Watnick, and sound designer John Zalewski.
