Perry Ojeda to Star in Is He Dead? at ICT

Perry Ojeda will star in the West Coast premiere of Mark Twain’s Is He Dead?, to play International City Theatre, April 28-May 24, with an opening set for May 1. Shashin Desai will direct.

This newly discovered comedy by Twain was adapted by David Ives, and played Broadway last season. It tells the story of French artist Jean Francois Millet (Ojeda), who stages his own death in order to drive up the price of his paintings.

The cast will also include Chip Bent (Dutchy), Joe Fria (multiple roles), Jules Hartley (Cecile), Jerry Hoffman (Papa Leroux), Suzanne Petrela (Marie), Brian Stanton (Chicago), as well as Jeanine Anderson, Steve Marvel, Suzanne Petrela, Terra Shelman, and Blake Silver.

The design team will include Stephen Gifford (set), Bill Georges (lighting and sound), and Kim DeShazo (costumes).

Ojeda’s Broadway credits include On the Town, Blood Brothers, and Imaginary Friends.
